Specialised Chemicals is leader in aerosol contract packaging. Their services range from initial product formulation and testing through to aerosol filling, packaging and distribution.
An unfortunate build-up of static within the factory resulted in a fire breaking out, which rapidly spread causing the evacuation of a number of nearby businesses whilst the fire department tried to control the blaze. The building suffered extensive damage and partial collapse which was beyond repair. The business was able to remain operational by outsourcing a significant proportion of their business as well as being able to rent an operational factory some 130 miles away.
Having previously carried out a number of projects at the site, DSA were appointed to complete the re-design, secure planning permission and carry out detailed drawings and on-site attendance.
This proposal sought to re-establish production facilities back in Grantham and restore effective operations whilst at the same time providing improvements to the operational management of the business and importantly, improved safety and risk management.
A series of single storey buildings were proposed for the production element together with a 2 storey Office element.
